Minimal Mac has a post that relates trying to explain commercial TV to a four year old who had only encountered streaming TV and DVDs before a family vacation to a friend's house.

This is all too true these days. We have too many ways to get our entertainment, and our kids are just as quick (if not quicker) to find what they want.

Kai (our 7-year-old) thinks it is normal to have a computer hooked up to the main TV in the house. Of course you should be able to stream what you want if it is not on the PVR. Nobody watches "what is on", do they?

We can justify it by pointing out that he is getting better at typing and spelling. He "googles" what he wants. When he spells things correctly, he finds what he wants (fortunately).
